Douglas Bauer’s eBook Publication Party: September 28th

September 26, 2012 by Susan

We’re all set and it’s going to be grand. We hope you’ll join us! All you have to do is drop in at inxpot’s Facebook Page for a virtual book party, as we celebrate the e-publication of Douglas Bauer’s “rich, startlingly resonant, stylistically powerful” novels, Dexterity, The Very Air, and The Book of Famous Iowans. Our first Foreverland First author Kathryn Dow will be on hand to help host the party and Doug will join us, too, as we post and tweet all day about the books, about Doug, and about anything else that comes up.

As a very special treat, we’ll be introducing “Foreverland,” an original song by Jay Pinto and John Hanley and talking to them about it, too. Also appearing: Lana Gloschat, our artist and cover designer who is responsible for the gorgeous covers on Doug’s books, upcoming Foreverland Press authors Bill Luvaas and Kate Aspengren, Foreverland Press authors Tara Ison and Susan Taylor Chehak, and you!

Uh oh. Not getting enough coffee?

June 14, 2012 by Susan

The first record of a public place serving coffee dates back to 1475. Kiva Han was the name of the first coffee shop, located in the Turkish city of Constantinople (now Istanbul). Coffee was such an important item during that time period, that it was legal in Turkey for a woman to divorce her husband if he could not supply her with enough coffee.

Fresh out of the oven

June 13, 2012 by Susan

Tom has baked us up another batch of Libbuff’s Famous Breakfast Cookies. He followed a recipe generously shared with me by my cousin Liz Sherman, who was known to us as Libbuff when she was a tot. Oatmeal, coconut, dates, and plenty of butter makes these irresistible, and with a fresh cup of coffee or tea they’re just the thing to get you rolling first thing in the morning or keep you sharp later in the day. Thanks, Liz!
